About Size 32D Bras

A 32D is a 32 band with a D cup — a fuller cup. The band does most of the work (around 80% of your support), so if it rides up at the back or the straps dig in, it's the band to fix, not you.

What does 32D mean?

The 32 is your band — roughly a 32-inch ribcage — and the D is the cup, about 4 inches between your underbust and fullest point. Put together, 32D is one fitted size, not two separate measurements.

Is the band or the cup more important in a 32D?

The band. In a 32D, the 32 band gives most of the lift and support; the D cup just needs to hold your volume without spilling. A loose band is the most common fit problem, so that's where to start.

Which is bigger, 32D or 32DD?

32DD. On the same 32 band, DD is one cup fuller than D, so a 32DD holds a little more. Same band — only the cup depth changes.
