About Size 42E Bras

A 42E is a 42 band with an E cup — a full cup. The band does most of the work (around 80% of your support), so if it rides up at the back or the straps dig in, it's the band to fix, not you.

Is 42E a large size?

The 42 band is roomy and E is 2 steps above a D, so 42E is a moderate full size, with the roomy band doing the support. A cup letter only means something next to its band, and the band carries most of the support.

What is 42E in US sizing?

There's no exact US match. Above a D cup, UK and US cup letters stop lining up (US adds DDD, then keeps diverging), so Scoop's UK 42E doesn't convert one-to-one to a US 42E. A fitting is the safest way to find your closest US equivalent.

What is 42E equivalent to?

Its sister sizes — same cup volume, a different band — are 40F (snugger band, deeper cup) and 44DD (roomier band, shallower cup). If the 42 band feels tight, try 44DD; if it's loose, 40F.
