About Size 40GG Bras

A 40GG is a 40 band with a GG cup — a deeper, fuller-bust cup. The band does most of the work (around 80% of your support), so if it rides up at the back or the straps dig in, it's the band to fix, not you.

Is 40GG a large size?

The 40 band is roomy and GG is 6 steps above a D, so 40GG is a genuinely full size — a deep cup on a roomy band. A cup letter only means something next to its band, and the band carries most of the support.

What is 40GG in US sizing?

There's no exact US match. Above a D cup, UK and US cup letters stop lining up (US adds DDD, then keeps diverging), so Scoop's UK 40GG doesn't convert one-to-one to a US 40GG. A fitting is the safest way to find your closest US equivalent.

What is 40GG equivalent to?

Its sister sizes — same cup volume, a different band — are 38H (snugger band, deeper cup) and 42G (roomier band, shallower cup). If the 40 band feels tight, try 42G; if it's loose, 38H.
